MAN DIESEL & TURBO SE
As of 1 January 2010 MAN Diesel SE merged with MAN Turbo AG to form MAN Diesel & Turbo SE. The MAN Diesel Group is a leading supplier of large diesel engines for ship propulsion systems, stationary power supply and rail traction. The Group is also one of the leading suppliers of diesel power plants and turbochargers. The turnover in 2005 amounted to over 1.67 billion Euro.
The Strategic Business Unit Medium-Speed Engines within the MAN Diesel Group develops and manufactures four-stroke engines that have a long tradition in marine propulsion. The second central application of medium-speed engines is power generation, having made the MAN Diesel Group one of the biggest players in the global market for stationary Diesel power plants.
MAN Diesel has more than 60 years' unrivalled experience of producing turbochargers with plain bearings and uncooled hot gas casings. Based in Augsburg, Germany, the MAN Diesel turbocharger division develops and produces state-of-the-art machines that dramatically improve the power and fuel efficiency of a wide range of engines, including those serving ship propulsion systems, diesel power plants and rail traction installations. More than 20 000 high efficiency turbochargers are currently in operation.
